Basil tea - a drink with medicinal properties, it is not recommended to abuse its dosage. The leaves contain mercury compounds, which in small doses have an antimicrobial effect, in large doses they act as a poison.

Meat dishes

  • pork - 1 kg;
  • onion - 1 pc .;
  • garlic - 3 cloves;

How do we cook:

  1. Cut the meat into pieces and marinate in olive oil with spices.

  4. As soon as a ruddy crust appears, we reduce the fire.
  5. Add peeled and grated tomatoes, garlic and finely chopped onion.
  6. Season the meat with salt and pepper.
  7. Simmer covered for 40 minutes.
  8. Add the basil herbs and simmer for another 10-15 minutes.

Bakery products

Basil is added to pizzas, pies, and breads. It gives a spicy taste and aroma to savory baked goods, emphasizes the sound of cheese and tomatoes in pizza. In sweet pastries, it sets off berry fillings with its sharpness, enhances their taste and aroma.

Italian bread

Dough ingredients:

  • flour - 1.5 cups;
  • dry yeast -3 g;
  • salt - 1 tsp;
  • semolina - 10 g;
  • olive oil - 25 g;
  • water - 1 glass.


  • cherry tomatoes - 12 pcs.;
  • a bunch of basil;
  • garlic - 8-10 cloves;
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil and corn flour.

Cooking method:

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients of the dough, make a funnel in the middle and pour in oil and some water.
  2. Water is added while stirring. The dough is elastic and tight.
  3. Roll into a ball, cover with a towel and put away in a warm place.
  4. Cut the tomatoes into 2 parts, lightly fry in a pan so that they do not give water during baking.
  5. When the dough grows 2 times, roll it into a rectangular layer, sprinkle with corn flour.
  6. Grease the surface with olive oil, distribute the basil, tomatoes and coarsely chopped garlic cloves evenly.
  7. Wrap in roll or envelope.
  8. Place in the oven. The initial temperature is 250 degrees, after 5 minutes - 220, after 20 minutes reduce to 180 and bake for 25 minutes until a golden crust appears.
