Growing features
Depending on the region, seeds are sown for seedlings in early March or late February. Before planting, treatment with a growth stimulator is recommended for better germination. The soil should be light, the optimal composition is a mixture of garden soil with humus. It is possible to add a small amount of washed river sand, wood ash or superphosphate.
Planting is carried out with a depth of 1.5-2 cm; for germination, a temperature of at least 25 degrees is required. When the first shoots appear, the temperature is reduced to 15-16 degrees for 5-7 days. Then it is raised again to normal room temperature. This hardening strengthens young plants and increases their immunity. After the appearance of the first pair of true leaves, the seedlings are dived and fed with liquid complex fertilizer.
At the age of 50-60 days, the seedlings are moved to their permanent residence, in a greenhouse or open ground. The soil is loosened and fertilized with a generous portion of humus. For 1 sq. m place 3-4 plants, in the first days it is better to cover them with a film. Water the tomatoes as the soil dries up with warm water. Every 2 weeks of planting, they are fed with a complex mineral fertilizer with a predominance of phosphorus and potassium. The lateral processes above 5 brushes are removed, as the fruits ripen, the branches are tied to supports.
Diseases and pests
Tomato variety Prazdnichny F1 is resistant to the main diseases of Solanaceae: fusarium and verticillary wilting, apical rot. However, one cannot do without elementary preventive measures. The soil is spilled with a solution of potassium permanganate or copper sulfate before planting.
When grown in a greenhouse, a humidity level of no higher than 60% is maintained, this will help to avoid gray, white or root rot. For preventive purposes, it is recommended to spray plants with phytosporin or another drug with an anti-fungal effect. Noticing the first signs of late blight, the plants are treated with medicinal preparations, and the damaged parts are destroyed.
Insecticides, an aqueous solution of ammonia or decoctions of herbs: chamomile, celandine, yarrow will help get rid of insect pests. The plantings are regularly inspected, the soil is loosened, and the weeds are removed.
Festive tomatoes will be a real decoration of the garden. Small bushes, hung with long bright scarlet clusters of tomatoes, look very decorative. You can pick the fruits with whole brushes as they ripen.
